I thought it might be cool if I started posting a few of my favorite things at the moment to give you some insight to what I’m diggin’ now. These can be cool websites, products, food, drinks, music, or anything that’s on my radar. Maybe y’all will find something you like here too. Please let me know what you think in the comments section! Here we go!
Book Bub – https://www.bookbub.com/home/
I know I may be late in the game but I just discovered BookBub a few months ago. My wife constantly has her nose in a book and she thought it might be something I would like as well. I’m not a huge reader but I do enjoy reading some good non-fiction when I get the chance. Basically, you sign up with your e-mail address and customize your reading genres on the site. That’s it! Then you will get a daily e-mail with suggestions for you. Most Kindle versions are $1.99. Many were best sellers too. I have put together a nice little summer library for well under $20. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Texas Twinkies at Hutchins BBQ – http://hutchinsbbq.com/
Most all of my friends know where I like to go for brisket and sausage in Frisco, duh…. Hutchins BBQ. I don’t even bother with any other place nearby. There is no point, it’s the best. I wanted to share with you my new love at Hutchins, called the Texas Twinkie. What’s a Texas Twinkie you ask? Let me give you the break down. They carve out a huge jalapeno, fill it with a little cream cheese and a whole lotta brisket. Then they wrap it up in bacon and cook ’em up. They lather it with some BBQ sauce before serving. Unreal! They are only sold Friday-Sunday. Go get some and let me know what you think.
Stone Temple Pilots – “I Got You”
Stone Temple Pilots were always one of my favorite bands in college when they first hit the scene. “Interstate Love Song” is still one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time. I never really dug too much further into some of the tracks on their later albums so apparently I missed a few gems. One gem in particular is the song “I Got You”. It popped up on Spotify in a playlist and I’ve been spinning it frequently since. It’s got a country/western vibe to it that I definitely dig. It came out in 1999. So I’m only 18 years behind. Give it a spin below.
